Our President Mike Mansfield for the second year in office supported by Vice President Bob Cooper started off the new programme with our Annual Church Service and Lunch both at new venues, firstly the service taken by member Clive Allen at Lytchett Methodist Church with his wife Adrienne playing for the hymns which included 'Oh for a thousand tongues to sing' to the tune Lyngham.

Lunch followed at 'The Chequers' Lytchett Matravers who not only provided excellent service but made us feel most welcome. When Sue and Collin joined us,( Sue had to take a service at Wareham) because of their love for Cornwall and spending many holidays there we sung  'Going up Camborne Hill' and 'Trelawney' on their arrival.

On February 14th the birthday of the founder of Bournemouth Captain Lewis Tregonwell the Cornish Flag was raised at the Bournemouth International Centre by the Worshipful Mayor Councillor Derek Borthwick and our President Mike Mansfield. Joining us was John Sweet who in fine voice sung in Cornish.

Everyone then went to the Parish Church of St. Peters Bournemouth and following a short service placed flowers on Tregonwell’s tomb. Our cup of coffee in the church and chat afterwards was most welcome.

The next BCA meeting will be on the 20th March for lunch at the Bear Cross.

Our President and his wife with Liz and Aubrey Lane will be attending the 'Homecomers' St. Piran's Lunch at the Falmouth Hotel on March 5th and our President and Alison will be at the London Annual Anniversary Lunch on March 16th.
